About Dermapen + Exosomes

Our Fresha menu lists “Dermapen + EXOSOMES” as a 90-minute appointment. Microneedling and products marketed as exosomes are separate elements, and the listing does not by itself establish the combination’s safety, effectiveness, or regulatory status. Begin with a qualified clinician’s assessment and confirmation of the exact device, product, intended use, and available alternatives.

What the treatment name does and does not tell you

Microneedling uses a device to create controlled punctures in the skin. Exosome-labeled products vary in their source and formulation. Evidence for one product or a device used alone does not automatically apply to a particular combination. Ask whether an additional product is proposed, how it would be used, and what evidence supports that exact use.

FDA information to review before deciding

The FDA states that there are no FDA-approved exosome products. It also has not cleared microneedling devices for delivering cosmetics, drugs, or other products into the skin. Do not interpret an “FDA registered” facility, an overseas certificate, or the menu listing as approval of an exosome treatment.

Ask the clinician to explain lawful availability, product documentation, potential risks, and an alternative such as assessment for microneedling without an added product. This guide does not recommend an unapproved product or substitute for that conversation.

What to expect

  1. Request the exact device model, product name, ingredients or source, and proposed use.
  2. Discuss product-specific evidence, US regulatory status, suitability, and alternatives with a qualified clinician.
  3. Agree on a lawful, appropriate plan and written aftercare before any procedure is considered.

Before your visit

Tell your provider about allergies, skin conditions, medications, pregnancy, and recent procedures that may affect treatment. Do not start or stop prescribed medication for a cosmetic appointment without advice from your prescribing clinician.

Ask about suitability, current pricing, and appointment length before booking. Results and recovery vary from person to person.

After your visit

If an appropriate procedure is performed, follow the treating clinician’s written directions. Do not add unprescribed products to freshly treated skin. Seek prompt medical advice for worsening pain, spreading redness, discharge, or other unexpected symptoms.

Frequently asked questions

Are exosome products FDA approved?

The FDA’s consumer alert states that there are no FDA-approved exosome products. Ask about the exact product and proposed use; do not assume approval from marketing language.

Is this the same as standard microneedling?

No. Adding another product changes the question being assessed. Device authorization does not establish the safety or effectiveness of that combination.

Can I discuss microneedling without exosomes?

Yes. Ask a qualified clinician which alternatives are appropriate for your skin and which exact devices and uses are authorized.
